When cats come to us, they've often used up all 9 of their lives. Our volunteers give them that 10th life, allowing them to survive and find their forever homes. Award recipients this year have gone above and beyond to support the goals of The Cat Connection - and to save cats' lives. Please join us in thanking them.
Winner of the Amazing Vet Award
Dr. Kimberly Heald received her DVM from Tufts University in 1996. She and her husband, Dr. Mike Krawshuk, now own and practice at West Roxbury Animal Hospital. Dr. Kim not only comes to the shelter upon request to provide much-needed medical care for our kitties, she also is a foster! You are a savior, Dr. Kim!
Winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award
Dianne Hudson responded to a request for volunteers to help with Admin work; little did she know her response would lead her down a road that she is still traveling on more than 20 years later. As Intake Coordinator, she reassures people that we are a no-kill shelter and we will work to find a new home for their fur babies. Dianne, you are the BEST!!
Winner of the 10th Life Award #1
Pascale Perusse joined The Cat Connection as a volunteer in July 2022, shortly after retiring from a long career in health care. She was originally a cat caretaker, but has been TCC's amazing Foster Coordinator for over a year - among many other things! Pascale, what would we do without you?
Winner of the 10th Life Award #2
Caren Goldberg has been volunteering for the Cat Connection for almost two years. She lives in Needham with her family and their four cats, two of which were adopted from The Cat Connection. She loves helping the cats get adopted and also loves the time she spends at the shelter with the cats and fellow volunteers. And Caren, we all love you!
Winner of the Community Award
Andria Hanafin fosters for the Humane Society, and sometimes TCC. She traps strays and volunteers at a low cost clinic to learn to recover and vaccinate cats. Socializing, with help from her family, is her biggest job. Her next endeavor will be a clinic in another country. Saving cats is truly her passion. Andria, our community and its cats are in your debt.
